Dr. Stefanie Halpern, archives director for the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, speaks with B’nai B’rith CEO Dan Mariaschin about YIVO’s history and founding, the Institute’s incredible work preserving Yiddish culture, and the Edward Blank YIVO Vilna Online Collection – an international effort to preserve, digitize and virtually reunite YIVO’s pre-war library and archival collections based in New York City and Vilna (Vilnius), Poland, through a dedicated web portal.

The Edward Blank YIVO Vilna Online Collection project will also digitally reconstruct the historic, private Strashun Library of Vilna, one of the great pre-war European libraries.
