In this episode of our podcast, Conversations with B’nai B’rith, B’nai B’rith CEO Dan Mariaschin speaks with Nadeem Amar, an Israeli, Druze and proud Zionist.
Amar, an attorney and former mayor of Civil Council of Julis, a major Druze town in Israel, actively engages with groups around the world on topics including Zionism, education and Israeli society. He emphasizes that Israel, though majority Jewish, is also a welcoming place for Muslims, Christians, and of course, Druze.
Exploring this broader narrative of coexistence and mutual respect challenges stereotypes and offers a more comprehensive view of Israeli society.

With over a million members in Syria and Lebanon, about 143,000 Druze live in Israel, making up 1.6% of the population.
