Goldberg B’nai B’rith Towers hosted a volunteer event for Twitter staff in conjunction with Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, which brings together adherents of different religions for service projects and dialogue. Twitter gave a donation to the foundation affiliated with the building, in addition to covering the costs of the event, which took place on Jan. 16th.
Twitter staff volunteers cooked, packed and served food; hosted games in multiple languages; socialized with residents; volunteered at the Goldberg Towers library; and performed various tasks around the building, such as hanging photos.
Many members of the Twitter community pitched in for the event, which was part of Twitter’s social good-oriented program Twitter for Good. More than 4,500 people volunteered at several nonprofits around Houston; 100 came to Goldberg B’nai B’rith Towers.
The manager of Goldberg Towers, Tonya Jefferson, expressed her appreciation for the volunteers’ efforts. “Their selfless acts of kindness were inexpressible,” she said.
